Bio: Francis J. Lee, Jr. was a native-born citizen of Riley County, Kansas.  He served first in World War II from 1944 to 1946 and subsequently served a second tour of duty during the Korean War.  He died March 22, 1952 in Beppu, Japan from injuries sustained in Korea.  At death, Lee had the rank of Sergeant First Class and served as jump master with the 4th Airborne Rangers attached to the 187th Combat Batalion.  Lee was buried at Sunset Cemetery, Manhattan, Kansas with military honors.
