Bio: Harry Clyde Achenbach was born on December 2, 1920 in Goodland, Sherman Co., Kansas to Harry Clayton Achenbach and Irene Adeline (Westling) Achenbach. Harry, known as Clyde, grew up a a young child in Clay Center, Ks and moved to Manhattan by 1940 to attend the Kansas State College. After a year in college, Clyde worked as an attendant for several gas and oil companies in Manhattan for quite a few years. He married Corrine on May 11, 1947 in Manhattan and had one son, Claire in 1950. In later life he moved to Scottsdale, Arizona. He married his second wife in 1972 there and died on February 3, 1998.
