Bio:  Owen's parents divorced by 1930 and Owen Dean assumed his mother's second husbands surname; Hobson.  He is shown as living in Topeka on the 1940 census.  It is unclear at this point if he is in fact that Dean Spence on the 101 list.  Owen Dean Spence was held as a P.O.W. from December 19, 1944 to June 12, 1945.  It is possible that this is why he was thought to have been killed during the war. This veteran is still being researched.
