Bio: Forrest grew up in Manhattan and graduated from Manhattan High School. He had a tall and slender build at 6'1" and 155 lbs. After graduating from MHS he went to Florida to attend the University of Florida in Gainsville. He worked as an auto mechanic to make ends meet. He registered for the draft on October 16, 1941. Instead of waiting for his name to be called he left school and enlisted in the Army Air Corps on October 22, 1942. He started out as a private but was able to gain promotion to Tech Sergeant. He is listed as having trained in Texas, Arizona and Washington and having served in Panama, Guatemala and the Galapagos Islands. He was stationed at Geiger Air Field in Spokane, Washington when he was killed. The cause of his death is not clear but is listed as non-battle related.
